I don’t know Ableton and I don’t want to have to learn Ableton just for this. One of the pastors sons knows Ableton (but I don’t know how much he knows) I talked to him last week so I am hoping he has the time to make the necessary changes to at least get thru Sunday. So he isn’t much help, he is still there but he isn’t involved in the audio at the church anymore. I was told yesterday that the person that set this up (without my involvement) watched a video on how to do it and followed step by step and he really doesn’t know what he is doing. The Ableton computer is used for their streaming feed so someone mixes on for the added plugins that it gives them which were copy and pasted into their setup. Here is some background info if it helps you to understand this setup: And I think this routing enables me to put those things on channels 29&30. There is one or two things I want to go into the X32 that I don’t want to go to the stream. So this should send the Aux 3&4 to the card out and leave inputs AES50-A channels 25-32 alone. And then move to the Auxin column and the Inputs 25-32 row and in that box I click input 29 as Aux3 and Input 30 as Aux 4.
In that box I click on one to one except inputs 29&30. Then in the “User In” Inputs 25-32 I go to the AES50- A 25-32 column and Inputs 25-32 row. If in “Routing” the “Card” tab the 4th row down “Outputs 25-32” I go all the way to the right I select “User In” 25-32. I want them to take the output from Ableton and feed that directly to the streaming device which is a BoxCast device. I want to include this (sound from video playback) in the USB feed to Ableton so I can eliminate the output from returning to the X32. Right now the audio from video playback computer goes to Mix Bus7 so it is included in the streaming. And that goes to the BoxCast device thru a small analog mixer to give them monitoring capabilities in the Video control room. I think I mentioned in another post that this setup has a mix from Ableton return to the X32 and then goes to Mix Bus7 (that was the original feed for streaming before Ableton) where it is compressed a bit and that is routed to Matrix out 5&6 and has a brick wall limiter setup there. I am trying to figure out a way to get playback from a different computer (sound from video playback) that is going to the Aux 3&4 jacks on the back of the X32 to get to the streaming mix computer that is running Ableton.
BTW I am using all of the Ultranet outputs for some P16ms on stage so there are no free channels there. I assume when you say “the 3 staging menus that allow tap points” you are referring to in the routing menu, “Out 1-16”, “Aux Out” or “Ultranet” and then you select that in the “Card” tab.
